Speciality breads are enjoying a real surge in popularity – and we have over 70 different types at Booths. Breads made from wheat, breads made from rye, breads with pistachio, pesto, olives, walnut or caraway seeds. Wrapped in paper, served loose or even conventional ready sliced you’ll be sure to find what you’re looking for at Booths.



Few things are so welcome as the smell of freshly baked bread – and that’s exactly what waits in many of our stores. Those with their own bakeries offer a delicious selection, many served warm from the oven.

 

But the choice doesn’t end there. The region boasts a surprising number of artisan bakeries and by making their produce available in our stores, you enjoy a world of flavours. Tuscan, French, Russian – even Ukrainian. All made to traditional national recipes, all baked just an hour or two away.

 

One such artisan bakery is ‘Staff of Life’ in Kendal. The husband and wife team who established it use a slow fermentation to extract every last bit of flavour from the three grains they use. We’ve been serving their loaves in our Kendal store’s acclaimed restaurant, Artisan, for some years now. Currently, we’re working with them to build a wood-fired bakery so customers in other stores can also enjoy their fantastic creations.
